New Year's resolutions for the Mad River Path Association (MRPA) this year include reviewing and revising its strategic plan.

"The Path" had its 25th birthday this year and has a lot to celebrate including its first perpetual trail easement, work on the Village Path, a bigger-than-ever turnout for the Mad Bash and annual meeting, another triumphant Mad Dash, Art on the Path, and great support from the Rotary, Green Mountain Valley School students and faculty, and Path members in completing the boardwalk portion of the Village Path.

Other MRPA achievements included successful partnerships with a variety of organizations to collaborate on moving forward on key projects including Friends of the Mad River, Open Hearth Community Center, and Mad River Valley Recreation District.

Board members remain committed to the mission to "build, maintain, support and conserve a system of public pathways from Warren to Moretown to foster a healthy community by connecting the people, schools, businesses and special places of the Mad River Valley."

An energetic board is interested in what MRPA stakeholders, including Valley residents and visitors, are thinking so that they can incorporate diverse viewpoints. The community plays a vital role in supporting the path both as consumers and adjacent landowners. The MRPA Board wants to include this important voice to guide it in the planning process. The MRPA Board invites you to join in this strategic planning process by completing this short survey.

Those who complete the survey will have their names entered in a drawing for a free 2009-2010 membership in the path.
