The Northwest Ohio Center of Excellence in Science and Mathematics Education (NWO) is a partnership between Bowling Green State University, University of Toledo, Owens State Community College, Lourdes College, University of Findlay, local school districts, educational service centers, business and non profit organizations.
The following are the purposes for which this organization has been created.


Mission: Advancing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education for people of all ages.


Vision: The Northwest Ohio Center of Excellence aims to advance science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education for people of all ages. Our purpose is to work with community partners to (a) generate new knowledge about the science of teaching and learning, (b) apply this knowledge by developing the expertise of K-12 educators and higher education faculty, (c) increase public support for, and understanding of, the STEM subject areas, and (d) to stimulate the interest of young people, especially those in underrepresented groups, in these rewarding fields of study and career opportunities.

NWO strives to create partnerships in northwest Ohio and the surrounding area to meet the mission, vision and goals of the center. A partner of NWO can assist the center in many different ways and at different levels of involvement. At a minimum, a partner of NWO should be interested in collaborating with the center in some way to meet the mission, vision and goals of the center.

To honor the partnership between these two organizations, NWO agrees to the following:


Promote partner activities on our website, through electronic newsletter and among our staff.

 

Identify your organization as a partner, where appropriate, in literature and publicity materials distributed by NWO.

 

Invite partners to participate in NWO events and meetings as presenters, vendors and advisors.

 

Enhance our relationship through invitations to partner on projects involving grant, foundation and sponsorship opportunities, where appropriate.

By submitting this form, I understand that I am entering into a partnership agreement with NWO and upon approval will be a partner with NWO in improving STEM education until such time that one or both parties wishes to terminate the partnership or the organizations cease to exist.
