Welcome to the RSST Red Squirrel Perceptions survey. This has been designed with input from project staff, volunteers and scientists from across the UK red squirrel community.

The survey aims to capture people's perceptions of the situation regarding red and grey squirrel numbers in their local area. We welcome everyone's views - you do not need to work in red squirrel conservation to take part!

We will conduct the survey twice a year. This way we can build up a picture of trends around the UK. However, it is very important that sightings also continue to be reported locally; this survey supplements existing systems, and does not replace them.

We need as many people as possible to take part to increase the accuracy of our results. Therefore, we would be most grateful if you could forward a link to this page to other people you know who you think would be happy to take part.

We will send a link to the survey results to all participants once they have been collated. You will also find reports of reds returning around the UK on the reds returning map on our website.

Do let us know if you have any questions or comments on the survey. We value your feedback and would love to hear from you. Please direct any questions to info@rsst.org.uk.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to participate in our Red Squirrel Perceptions survey!
