The Holmes County Economic Development Council is a private not for profit organization charged with enhancing, promoting and improving the quality of economic life for Holmes County residents and businesses. In working toward this end, the council provides a wide variety of services and advocacy to area employers. Understanding the status and needs of the local business community is critical to providing focus and direction to the council. A Retention and Expansion (R&E) Study involving a cross section of local industry is the primary vehicle used to capture this valuable information. The Holmes County Economic Development Council Executive Board is thankful for your participation in this most important initiative.
The R&E Study is composed of several elements designed to identify issues confronting the local community. An annual onsite interview conducted by council members forms the nucleus of the program, allowing for company representatives to explain the state of their business, share future plans, air concerns/needs, and make suggestions for improvement. R&E results and findings are used to pinpoint, guide and direct strategic initiatives aimed at the following:
· Reducing the cost of doing business
· Improving business competitiveness
· Increasing market access for business
· Enhancing business infrastructure
· Encouraging job creation
· Provoking new capital investment
A forthright estimation of your time commitment is 1 to 1 ½ hours. The first step in this process is completing the following survey prior to the site visit by organization representatives. The information provided will provide guidance in conducting a productive interview at your place of business.
In advance, thank you for your thoughtful consideration. Feel free to call 330.763.2954 or write sstarlin@hcedc.com with any questions, comments or technical issues.
