NOMINATION FOR CONSIDERATION OF THE AWARDS COMMITTEE FOR THE COPPER CLUB

THE ANKH AWARD (COPPER MAN OF THE YEAR)


The Copper Club's Ankh Award, named for the ankh, a graphic symbol for the red metal dating back to ancient Egypt, also known as the Copper Man of the Year Award, was first presented in 1962 to honor outstanding individual achievements in and contributions to the copper industry.

The Copper Club requests your nomination for the individual who has made notable contributions to the industry. The winner will be selected by the Ankh Award committee and presented at the Annual Dinner.

According to one or more of the following criteria (check those applicable):

Who, in the past year or in recent years, has rendered significant service to the copper industry or has acted as a spokesperson for the industry on the national or international scene.
Who, in the past or in recent years, has inaugurated or was instrumental in a technical breakthrough in the mining, refining or fabricating of copper or copper products that benefited the entire industry.
Who, in the past or in recent years, has been instrumental in inaugurating an outstanding research or marketing program leading to the expansion of the market for copper or copper products.
Who, upon study of outstanding problems confronting the copper producing and fabricating industries, has developed practical solutions for such problems.
Who, in the past year or in recent years, inaugurated or was instrumental in creating important new and imaginative uses for copper.

Please note this is not a ballot. The Ankh has been awarded and will continue to be awarded based on the exceptional accomplishments of a nominee and not on the number of recommendations received for any one person.

If, at the sole discretion of the Awards Committee and with the concurrence of the Board of Directors an award is made, the presentation will be at the Annual Dinner Meeting.

To be considered, nominations must be received no later than March 12, 2010.
