On Tuesday, April 6, 2010 a bond election will be placed before the patrons of the Marshfield R-I School District.  The following questions are designed to gauge the understanding of the ballot language and identify any questions or concerns.

QUESTION NO. 1
Shall the Marshfield Reorganized School District R-1 of Webster County, Missouri board of education borrow money in the amount of $5,000,000 for the purpose of construction, additions and improvements to existing school facilities, repairing, renovating and improving existing school buildings and facilities and furnishing and equipping the same and issue bonds for the payment thereof resulting in no increase to the debt service property tax levy?
If this proposition is approved, the adjusted debt service levy of the school district is estimated to remain unchanged at $0.6000 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property.

As an overview, the goal is to provide the following: a cafeteria/multi-purpose room addition for the Jr. High; additional classrooms for the Jr. High; a cafeteria/multi-purpose room for Webster; additional classrooms for Webster; additional classrooms for the High School; additional lockers for the High School; P.E. facilities for the High School; safe rooms (contingent on additional FEMA funding) for storm protection on the High School/Shook campus; safe rooms  (contingent on additional FEMA funding) for storm protection for the Jr. High, Hubble and Webster; and roof repairs, technology updates and miscellaneous renovations as needed throughout the District.
