Aspen Historical Society Survey

The Aspen Historical Society Board of Directors is developing a vision of how the Society might improve its services to our community over the next 5-10 years.

Downtown Aspen Presence: If the Aspen Historical Society were to have a stronger presence in downtown Aspen, what do you think would be the best way to improve our services? (Please rank in order of priority - with 1 being the highest priority)

Create a museum or permanent exhibit space in downtown Aspen
Develop a moveable exhibit in downtown Aspen - that would move among various available "storefronts"
Conduct more tours and historical information programs downtown - either in open spaces (like the mall) or indoors (such as restaurants or stores)
Increase the number of historical markers and informational panels on historic sites throughout the downtown area

Lift One Site: Willoughby Park (the base of Aspen Mouain where the first lift was built)  

This is an historic site. What would be the best focus to tell the story?

In a museum (building) - with permanent exhibits
As an outdoor exhibit with existing historic elements as the focus
As an outdoor interactive comprehensive exhibit
As a park - with a few interpretive panels (like Wagner Park rest room murals)
