Since 2004, the Tennessee Wildlife Federation has been working closely with the Tennessee General Assembly and the Tennessee Attorney General's Office to secure a public referendum on the Right to Hunt and Fish in Tennessee.

As a result, a constitutional amendment will be on the ballot on November 2, 2010, when voters go to the polls to elect a new governor. The amendment simply affirms the personal right of Tennesseans to hunt and fish within the prescribed laws, and without violating personal property rights.
