People are reinventing themselves at a rate never before seen in recorded history. According to the US Dept of Labour people change their role within an organization at least 4 times, and their job or career at least 12 times in a lifetime. Many careers and businesses today didn't even exist 6 years ago, so by necessity people must change in order to stay relevant. Approximately how many times have you changed your job title, career, or business in your lifetime?

As the world changes, the way you "belong" to the world keeps changing. Just a generation ago people experienced far less change than they do today. So, there are few role models for continually reinventing yourself. The result is lots of people are feeling stressed about being in perpetual transition. If you want to differentiate yourself and thrive in the world today it serves to develop the skill of reinventing with ease. The good news is that it is simply a skill you can learn and improve on. Which of these changes have you experienced over the past 2 years?

When it's time to reinvent, it can often feel like winter is upon you. The Winter of Change describes a time in everyone's life when it can feel cold and barren, when the old harvest of your work life has died off and the the new has yet to emerge. It happens cyclically in people's lives and can also impact other areas of life. Sometimes it can feel cold and barren like the winter, other times stressful due to inner or outer conflict, and other times it can seem exciting,--like a new adventure.

It has also been referred to as "the neutral zone", "the groan zone", "start up chaos", "lost between two worlds", "feeling stuck", "in the void", or for some people even "a dark night of the soul".

List below all those areas of life in which you think you may be in the Winter of Change. Feel free to add an area not listed under "other".

Changes in health
Financial stress
Job, career or business is feeling unfulfilling or too stressful
Relationships are stressful or people are letting you down
Uncomfortable with your lifestyle or way of being
Not sure what to do next
New ideas, visions, and dreams occuring to you
Life has thrown you a curve ball which is making you re-evaluate everything
