The Bluford Branch of the Kansas City Public Library is hosting a unique book group program offering readers the opportunity for immersion in great books by black authors over the course of four monthly discussions. This program has a limited number of seats available. In order to help the Library assemble a diverse group of engaged readers, please answer the following questions about your reading preferences.
Some questions (see 4 & 5) are merely aimed at demographic information that will have no bearing on whether interested readers are invited to participate in this book group program.
Participation in Building Bridges: A Selection of Classic Black Literature is contingent on completion of this Reader Profile Form. Those readers who are not selected at this time will receive a customized list of recommended readings (prepared by Library Readers' Advisors) based on the information submitted on this form, in addition to notification about future book group programs such as Building Bridges.
If at all possible, participants should provide an email address in order to receive electronic materials that complement the discussion group sessions, such as: overviews of selected books and authors, as well as questions to consider ahead of time.
The Library specifically recognizes as confidential any information received by the Library that identifies a person having requested or borrowed library material.
