The purpose of the Cultural Performances during the National Cherry Blossom Festival is to celebrate the friendship symbolized by the gift of flowering cherry trees from Tokyo to Washington, D.C. and to demonstrate cross-cultural exchange through a dynamic mix of American, Japanese, and other cultural performing arts. 2012 will mark the 100th anniversary of Japan's gift to Washington, D.C.
Prior to starting the completion of the Application, all interested applicants must download and review the 2012 National Cherry Blossom Festival Performing Arts Guides (PDF) for participation.
Additionally, once an application is begun, changes cannot be made while "in progress." Therefore, applicants should be prepared to address the following information within the application:
