The White Pine Charter School PFA (Parent Faculty Association) would like to thank you for your support and generosity in our fundraising efforts this year.  Because of your efforts (and those of your children) we have raised over $14,000 that we would like to spend to better the school.  The directive the PFA has been given in spending these funds is "...for the purpose of supporting the education of children at White Pine Charter School by fostering relationships among the school, parents, and teachers."  Because you ARE the members of PFA, we would like to hear from you what you would MOST LIKE to SPEND this money on. 

 

PLEASE take this ONE QUESTION survey AND/OR plan to attend our MEETING THURSDAY, APRIL 12, 2012 at 6:30 pm in the caffeteria (childcare provided) so that we can make a plan for YOUR MONEY!

 

In your opinion, what should the money obtained through fundraising by WPCS PFA be spent on?

Classroom Enhancement:
This would be anything the teachers feel would support the teaching of children in their classrooms best and could include things such as; science equipment (microscopes, graduated cylinders etc) math aids (games, blocks, etc) more classroom books for your children to read during free-in-class time or for their teachers to read to them, historical games or DVDs applicable to the age/place they are studying.

 Technology:
This could be used for new computers in the classroom (for student use), Kindle readers, Smart Boards, updates for older equipment etc...

Desks:
Please be aware that one of the strengths of White Pine Charter School is their progressive view on group learning.  Studies have shown that students learning in a social setting do better, not only in school, but also in their chosen place of employment.  We would not want to keep that "group learning" advantage but know some people would prefer to have times when the children should be in their own space.
