SURVEY OF U.S. REGIONAL COASTAL AND MARINE SPATIAL PLANNING EFFORTS Battelle Memorial Institute, in association with the Coastal States Organization and with resources provided by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, is leading an initiative to develop and deliver Coastal Marine Spatial Planning Advancement Training (CMSP-AT). The goal of this project is to accelerate the use of CMSP in the U.S. through the development and delivery of a high-quality CMSP curriculum for use by professional coastal managers. The Battelle project team will coordinate and host CMSP-AT education workshops in which the curriculum will be delivered to coastal managers in multiple U.S. regions. The workshops will include core curriculum and enhanced modules tailored to the regional audiences, collaborative and interactive problem solving, and incentives for continuing CMSP education and networking. The results of this survey will be used by the Battelle project team to assess regional CMSP efforts across the U.S. and to refine the regions where the CMSP-AT education workshops will be deployed. Your survey input will help us advance the use of CMSP in the U.S. This survey should take you less than 15 minutes to complete and includes 17 questions. The survey may be completed anonymously, all replies are optional and your individual responses will be held in confidence. If you have questions regarding the survey, please send an e-mail to Mike Barrett at BarrettM@battelle.org If you would like more information about the CMSP-AT Project, send an e-mail to CoastalMarineSpatialPlanning@gmail.com Please bookmark our website at www.CMSPAdvancement.com to stay up to date on Workshop schedules and curriculum development.
