Sheltering Arms Operation StoryBook Read-A-Thon is in its seventh year. The two day event brings VIPs, volunteers, storytellers, and performers into Sheltering Arms' 16 early childhood education centers to celebrate stories, books, and reading. In addition to getting children excited about reading, the event kicks off a year-long literacy program that provides a new book every month for the home libraries of 2500 children.
Through sponsorships and donations, the event raises funds to help provide child care tuition scholarships to children from low-income working families. These scholarships mean all children, regardless of their family's income, can have the care and early education they need to prepare for success in kindergarten and beyond. It also means parents are able to work and support their families with the peace of mind that their child is in a safe, loving place each day.
You can help and join in the fun! Pledge your support to sponsor a child in our book program, or sign up as a "VIP" reader for the Operation StoryBook Read-A-Thon on September 13th & 14th. You'll be directed to a webpage where you can sign-up when you're done voting.
Thanks for voting, and for supporting the children at Sheltering Arms!
