** PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTINUING - APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED FOR THE FALL CLASS. THIS IS FOR THE SPRING 2014 CLASS, DATES TO BE DETERMINED **
Thank you for considering volunteering with the Mayor's
Crisis Response Team (CRT) in the City of Los Angeles. CRT members are
volunteers who respond to traumatic incidents at the request of the LAPD and
LAFD and provide immediate on-scene crisis intervention, act as a liaison
between the victim and emergency personnel and give referrals to victims and
their families. These incidents include homicides, suicides, serious traffic
accidents, natural deaths and multi-casualty incidents.
The CRT classes are
required to become a member of the CRT, so please check your schedule before
applying to ensure you have the flexibility to accommodate the seven week
class. Additionally, all CRT volunteers are required to sign up for three
twelve hour shifts a month and asked to participate in continuing education, mentorship
and team building activities.
If this is a volunteer opportunity that speaks to you,
complete this application to become a CRT member. You may want to print out the
application and prepare your answers before completing the application online,
as you can only submit your application once all the questions have been
answered. Once you have submitted your application, it will be reviewed
and you will be contacted for an in-person interview.
If you have questions or need technical assistance, please
contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for your willingness to be
of service to your fellow Angelenos during times of crisis.
