Thank you for your interest in the Los Angeles Mayor's Crisis Response Team (CRT). CRT members are volunteers who respond to traumatic incidents at the request of the LAPD and the LAFD. Providing immediate on-scene crisis intervention, acting as a liaison between the victim and emergency personnel and giving referrals to victims and their families. These incidents include homicides, suicides, serious traffic accidents, natural deaths, domestic violence, death notification assistance, officer involved shootings and multi-casualty incidents.

The total duration of the training Academy is 9 weeks. Class meets Tuesday's and Thursday's from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. starting September 20th. Interviews will be held the third week in August. Additionally, all CRT volunteers are required to sign up to be on-call for thirty-six (36) hours a month and asked to participate in continuing education and additional training.

If this is a volunteer opportunity that speaks to you, please complete this application to become a CRT member. We suggest that you print out the application and prepare your answers before completing the application online, as you can only submit your application once all the questions have been answered. Once we receive your application, it will be reviewed and you will be contacted for an in-person interview.

If you have questions or need technical assistance, please contact the CRT Manager, Edward Alamo at edward.alamo@lacity.org. Thank you for your willingness to be of service to your fellow Angelenos during times of crisis.
