Help Protect the Air, Water, & Nature We All Rely On
RequiredRequired Question(s)

Audubon's mission to protect birds and other wildlife, and to protect environmental quality across Connecticut depends on an array of programs managed by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP).

Current proposals to reduce general funds allocated to DEEP by 10% threaten to undermine those programs, and impacts will likely be felt in state parks and other protected areas; in ensuring clean air and clean water for Connecticut citizens; and in the state's promotion of clean energy and climate protection. These impacts would be bad for birds, other wildlife, and people and have economic as well as environmental consequences.

We respectfully ask that the Connecticut state budget either reduce the proposed level of cuts to DEEP programs or allow for new measures for generating revenue that can keep these programs adequately funded on behalf of birds, other wildlife, and the nature of Connecticut.
