2017 Education Committee Survey
The Education Committee is working to revitalize the professional development opportunities provide by the Canton Chamber of Commerce. To this end, we have created a brief survey to measure member interest in a broad variety of topics, the best times of the day to offer training, and the interest of our members toward becoming the presenters.  Please direct any comments and questions to:  Gary Miller, Executive Director, Canton Chamber of Commerce, at 860-693-0404 or gary@cantonchamberofcommerce.com.
TOPICS: From the list of potential topics, please mark the ones that hold the most interest and would have the highest value for you in your business. We envision small hands-on seminars with 5-15 members.  Add your own topics of interest.

Develop or review your business/strategic plan
Basic accounting principles and record keeping
Labor and employment law update
Payroll and tax planning
Business insurance coverage
Retirement planning
Local government - land use or other regulations
Setting up Quicken or Quickbooks
Using Constant Contact to reach a wider customer base
Marketing your business using Social Media
Learn or improve skills in office tools, such as, spreadsheets, mail merge, etc.

TIME OF DAY: We plan to offer the seminars at times that fit our members' availability.  Please rank the top three best times of the day for a 45-60 minute seminar.  Topics that require a greater period for training may be offered in a series of short seminars.  The times below are approximate.  In the comment block, let us know if having training on a set day of the week or month would be preferred.

LOCATION: We will try to select a location that is most conducive to the particular training topic and provides adequate space and ample parking.  Please indicate your preference for a location.  If you are interested in hosting a seminar in your place of business, please add your space to the list.

PRESENTERS: In some cases, the Chamber may need to engage a professional to provide training. However, we believe most of the professional development can be provided by our own members, who have knowledge in their area of expertise and would like the opportunity to present a seminar to a group of current or potential customers. If you would be interested in being a presenter or trainer, please provide the topic(s) and approximate length of time needed in the comment area below.  You may also recommend a presenter for a specific topic.
