Thank you for submitting a nomination for the 2018 NAPSG Foundation Award for Excellence in Public Safety GIS! Provided below are some of the award criteria to use in developing your nomination entry.
 
Award Purpose
To recognize individuals for their leadership and achievements in significantly advancing the use of GIS for the public safety and homeland security community.
 
Eligibility
Each year, individuals from the public safety and homeland security community can be nominated to receive the award in one of the following categories:
-  Federal/National
-  State/Tribal/Regional
-  Local

Candidates can be employed by a government agency, non-profit organization, private sector, be self-employed, or serve a volunteer role.
 
Nomination Deadlines
The nomination application period is open. All nomination forms must be received prior to November 1, 2018. Award Recipients will be recognized at the Awards Reception held in conjunction with the 2018 National Geospatial Preparedness Summit. 
 
Award Criteria
Award recipients will be determined by how well they exemplify the following qualities:

-  Demonstrated leadership in promoting and supporting operation use of GIS for enhanced preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery, with specific demonstrable achievement(s) over the past 12-24 months. 

-  Served a key role--and made measurable progress--in advancing the readiness of the public safety and homeland security community.
