2018 IMOM Volunteer Registration
Thank you for volunteering for our 11th annual Iowa Mission of Mercy!
Please be sure to review information regarding volunteering at Iowa MOM prior to completing your registration.

If you have questions about volunteer opportunities, please contact Stacy Hilsabeck, at stacy@iowadental.org.
Volunteer Information
All dentists must provide a current copy of the declaration page from their policy evidencing their Professional Liability Coverage (Malpractice) prior to the event. If proof of insurance is not provided, you will not be able to practice dentistry at the Iowa MOM event; however, you can still volunteer in other, non-clinical areas.

You will be allowed to choose an area where you want to work. These preferences, however, cannot be guaranteed but will be followed as closely as possible. Some jobs require a significant amount of standing and walking. Please sign up for a position you will feel comfortable doing for at least 5 to 6 hours at a time with breaks when needed.

Some shifts have a maximum number of volunteers needed. Shifts will fill up on a first-come, first-served basis. The sooner you register, the more choices for shift times and assignments you will have.

If you wish to work as a team, be sure to register for the same shifts and put the same organization name/company/team where prompted.  Working together cannot be guaranteed, but we will try to honor these requests when possible.

Breakfast, lunch and beverages will be provided for volunteers each day.

A Volunteer Dinner is planned for Friday, and although it is free of charge to volunteers, there is a cost to Iowa MOM. You must make a reservation to attend. We are not able to accommodate special dietary needs.

All volunteers will be provided with one Iowa MOM t-shirt which must be worn during your IMOM shift(s) to help identify you as an IMOM Volunteer.

Out-of-State Dentists and Dental Hygienists: If Iowa is not the state of issuance of your license, you must apply for a temporary volunteer license from the Iowa Dental Board (IDB). There is no fee for this and you can apply on-line for a temporary license by clicking here. You will need to create a user account if you don't already have one.  After logging in, please go to LICENSING, then click on APPLY for LICENSE and select the appropriate volunteer application.  You may also download the application and return the completed application as instructed on the form.  If you have any questions, please contact Christel Braness at the IDB at 515-242-6369.

Retired Dentist or Dental Hygiene License: The Iowa Dental Board recently established a temporary license for retired dentists and dental hygienists. To qualify, the applicant must have held an active dental or dental hygiene license within the previous 5 years. Click here to access the paper application.
