Dear Peer Recovery Professional:

Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Providers of New York State (ASAP) and the New York Certification Board (NYCB) are pleased to offer OASAS-funded scholarships to cover the cost of application and exam fees for candidates wanting to become a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) or a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate-Provisional (CRPA-P). There are no scholarships at this time for Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (CARC) applicants.

We are accepting scholarship applications from those interested in becoming certified as a CRPA or CRPA-P, or renewing an existing CRPA certification. Scholarship funding is as follows:
  • CRPA Application Fee
  • CRPA-Provisional Application Fee
  • CRPA Exam Fee
  • CRPA Upgrade Fee
  • CRPA Renewal Fee
Applying for a scholarship is easy:

Step 1: Click 'Continue' below to complete the online scholarship application.
Step 2: We will send you an e-mail when we receive your scholarship application and let you know if you have been approved.
Step 3: Complete an application for certification or renewal when you have completed the requirements.

Please submit only one application.

Once the NYCB receives your application for CRPA or CRPA-P certification, your scholarship will be activated and your fee waived if the application is complete. Scholarships will be activated on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants submitting a completed certification application will have their scholarship activated before applicants submitting an incomplete application.

We look forward to receiving your scholarship application and to helping you through the certification process.
