Future Leaders in Planning (FLiP) will be held June 4, June 5, June 6, and June 7, 2019 at the Planning Commission in the County Center Building in Downtown Tampa. FLiP introduces students in grades 9, 10, and 11 to planning as a potential profession. Current seniors will be accepted on a space-available basis only.
Through a series of interactive planning activities, speakers, and tours on foot, bus, streetcar, and boat the FLiP program will provide opportunities for networking with planning professionals in the public and private sector and related government services. Students will gain broad planning exposure from multiple perspectives, including: comprehensive planning, economic development, environmental, historic preservation, redevelopment, transportation, geographic information systems, and more.
Please fill in the recommendation form honestly and completely for students who have completed their FLiP application. This recommendation form should be filled out ONLY by a teacher, counselor, mentor, or community leader familiar with the student applicant's strengths, as they are being considered for a leadership development program in the field of planning. You may recommend for multiple students by filling out a separate form for each.
