VASCD 2019 Annual Conference Session Proposal
RequiredRequired Question(s)
VASCD's 2019 Annual Conference will be held in Williamsburg on December 4 and 5. Our theme is "Learning Begins with Culture". Exciting, inspiring work is going on in Virginia's schools every day, and we are anxious for practitioners to share their work through the VASCD conference. We welcome your proposal!

This year we hope to include sessions and other experiences for attendees that relate to five key questions:
  1. How do we forge meaningful relationships with students and their families?
  2. What do teachers and students do differently in "deeper learning classrooms"?
  3. What steps can we take in our classrooms or school to support students' social and emotional health?
  4. What professional learning and social-emotional support do educators need in order to thrive and give their best to students?
  5. How can we fuse the 5Cs with explicit skill and content instruction?
Though we don't expect every session to address one or more of these questions, our selection team will prioritize those that do.

Questions should be directed to Conference Chair Julie Myers at myersj@fcpsk12.net or to Laurie McCullough at vascded@gmail.com.

Proposals must be submitted by July 15. Selections will be made and communicated by August 5. Concurrent sessions will be 75 minutes in length.
