Learning Begins at Birth Distribution Survey
RequiredRequired Question(s)

Earlier this year, Nebraska was selected to receive a federal Preschool Development Grant to improve the coordination of various state systems addressing children's early development. Our state's grant award is being administered through the Department of Health and Human Services under the approval of Governor Ricketts.

As part of this grant, a multi-organizational work group has been tasked with updating and distributing Learning Begins at Birth, a resource booklet designed to help new and expectant parents guide the early development of their youngest children.

According to Nebraska statute 79-1902, every Nebraska parent of a child born in this state is to receive a copy of this resource, which addresses developmental stages, health, indicators of quality child care settings and other issues important to the lifelong outcomes of young children. You can read more about the contents of the Learning Begins at Birth booklet online at First Five Nebraska's website.

The publication will be distributed at no cost later this year through organizations, agencies and providers serving expectant parents and parents of children ages 0-5. Because your organization engages with these parents, we hope you can help us make the new Learning Begins at Birth booklets available to them.If so, please fill out the brief form below to help us determine how best to share this resource with you and the families you serve.

Thanks so much for your assistance.
