Annual Awards Dinner Nominations

The Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce's Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2020. We will be recognizing a Business of the Year, Educator of the Year and Volunteer of the Year. All individuals are encouraged to nominate a business or individual for any of these awards. You DO NOT have to be a member of the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce to submit a nomination. Please take a moment to nominate a business or individual you feel is deserving of one of the above awards!
All nominations must be in by Friday, November 22nd, 2019.

Business Of The Year Nomination
Selection Criteria:
Business must be a member of the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce.
Business cannot be owned by a current Board member of the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce.
 
Please list three reasons why the business is deserving of this award.  
Examples include: excellent quality; customer service; growth in employees, sales or service; contributions/involvement in the community.  Please include any recognitions or awards they have received or reinvestments in the community (i.e. interior/exterior improvements to their property). 
 
Be sure to list the business name, owner's name and business address.

Volunteer Of The Year Nomination
Selection Criteria:
Nominee does not need to live in Hastings, but service must benefit the Hastings area.
Nominee should have a past history of volunteer work with various groups and dedication over a period of years.
Nominee cannot be a member of the Board of Directors for the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce.
  
Please indicate why this individual should receive the Volunteer of the Year award.
List the nominee's volunteer activities, length of service and any accomplishments along with at least three reasons why they should receive this award.  List only volunteer work for which no compensation is received and include any past awards and recognition that this person has received in the volunteer area.  Please include endorsements from organizations they have served. 

 
Be sure to give the nominee's name, phone number and company.

Educator Of The Year Nomination
Selection Criteria:
Person must educate within School District #200 and can be in either public or private schools.
Person must have a teaching certificate but does not need to be a classroom teacher.
  
Please list three reasons why this individual should receive the Educator of the Year award.
Please provide examples of how this educator has overcome challenges and empowered students.  Also include how they have created engaging content for subject matter outside of normal curriculum that demonstrates leadership and value to the students above and beyond expectations.  Please also list any volunteer roles they have participated within the community.
