The Army Heritage Center Foundation is looking for Veterans willing to be interviewed as part of our Veterans Oral History Program. In partnership with Cumberland Valley School District, we train high school students to conduct oral history interviews, then supervise and assist them through the interview process.
We seek Veterans willing to come to Cumberland Valley High School for two separate interviews of about 90 minutes each. Between interviews, students will work with Foundation staff to research your period of service and formulate follow up questions. Most interviews take place during the school day, but after school can be arranged if that fits your schedule better.
Recordings of the interview will be submitted for preservation in the archives of the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center or other suitable archival facilities. Veterans who participate will be provided copies upon request.
Interested Veterans should complete the following survey. We will conduct interviews as students become available, and while we will make every effort to interview every Veteran who signs up, we cannot guarantee that you will be interviewed.
The program depends on students' and Veterans' interest and availability. We cannot guarantee an interview within a specific time frame.
If you have questions you would like answered before proceeding, please contact Army Heritage Center Foundation Education Director Jeff Hawks at or 717-258-1102.
