10,000 Steps A Day Challenge
RequiredRequired Question(s)
1 in 4 US adults spend about 70% of their waking hours sitting, 30% in light activities, and little or no time in exercise.  Low active is 5,000 to 7,499 steps per day. Somewhat active is 7,500 to 9,999 steps per day. Active is more than 10,000 steps per day. Highly active is more than 12,500.  When and how you move each day needs to start being scheduled. Just by standing you can burn 20 - 50 more calories per hour than sitting, depending on your body size.  When you stand your muscles have to work, when you move your muscles have to work harder, when you sit...you got nothin'.  It's not just about getting enough exercise, it's about getting enough movement in your day.  By being part of this challenge group you will not only have the accountability that is scientifically proven to increase your chances of goal achievement, but you'll also learn how to strategize and plan your days' activities so that you can be sure to get your 10,000 steps in.
