Important Information about VASCD Conference Sessions
We are inviting proposals for our December 2-3 Annual Conference, themed "2020 Vision". It will be a fully virtual conference, and will offer sessions in a variety of online formats, both synchronous and asynchronous.

Focus areas for our 2020 conference are (1) equity, (2) connections and relationships, and (3) worthwhile learning outside school walls. Sessions that directly address one of these focus areas will be prioritized for acceptance.

We will accept session proposals through AUGUST 1 and will notify you by AUGUST 15 regarding the status of your proposal.

The conference will offer sessions in multiple formats. Please take a look at the following descriptions before you select the formats in which you're willing to present.

Live virtual sessions will be presented at a scheduled time, likely through Zoom or YouTube Live. If you are able to host your session, it will be helpful but it is not required. Sessions will be approximately an hour in length. Consider organizing your presentation so that "sit-and-watch" periods without interaction or activity do not exceed 15 minutes.

If you are able to pre-record your presentation, we will still put it on the schedule at a time when attendees can watch your pre-recorded video and interact with you in discussion, activities, or Q&A. Additionally, your video will be posted so that those who did not attend at the scheduled time can watch at another time. We expect to keep these videos available to attendees for 2 days past the closing of the conference. Pre-recording your presentation also helps us avoid technology snafus, bandwidth problems, and other glitches. And you can always have a do-over if your first try isn't your best work!

Bullet sessions are 3-minute recorded talks organized around one slide with three bullet points. The bullet points you choose should be core ideas related to one of our conference strands. We'll embed these bullet sessions at various places within each of our strands. This is a great chance for you to share ideas from a favorite book, share core ideas about the conference strand based on your perspective and experience.

Poster sessions spotlight specific innovations or programs from schools. Prepare an image for us to share in our "poster room" alongside a discussion board where attendees who virtually "stroll by" your poster can ask questions and chat with you during the conference.

Required 4.
In which of these formats are you willing to present?
Poster sessions are shorter presentations intended to share an innovative project from your school. These sessions feature ideas that may be specific to a content area, grade level, or specialty area. (Check all that apply)
