Camera Operator of the Year - Film & Television Nominee Submission Form

The Society of Camera Operators (SOC) is pleased to announce the Camera Operator of the Year Awards & Creative Vision Celebration on Sunday, April 11th 5 - 6:30pm PST (virtual event).
 
The form below allows you to nominate one operator for their work on a project. There is a $75 USD submission fee per nominee which can be paid via a link shown once you submit this form.

The nominee submissions are open from February 15, 2021 through March 10, 2021 12 midnight PST. On March 24, 2021 the Awards Committee will determine the five nominees and membership voting opens March 31, 2021 through April 9th, 2021. The five nominees per category will have a clip of their nominated project shown in addition to a question from the MCs at the live virtual Awards & Celebration on April 11th, 2021 and the recipient will be announced during the Awards & Celebration.
 
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
 
Film nominees submissions:
This award is given to a Feature Film full time "A" Camera Operator who has operated on a distinguished project of considerable quality during the 2020 calendar year and through February 28, 2021.
 
There are two methods of qualification for Film nominees submission:
 
Films which are intended for theatrical release, but are initially made available through commercial streaming, VOD service or other broadcast may qualify. 

Or Films that open in theaters in at least one of the six qualifying U.S. cities qualify and that the film completes a qualifying run of at least seven consecutive days in the same commercial venue, during which period screenings must occur at least three times daily, with at least one screening beginning between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. daily. 
 
*** Qualifying cities include: Los Angeles County; City of New York [Five Boroughs]; the Bay Area [counties of San Francisco, Marin, Alameda, San Mateo and Contra Costa]; Chicago [Cook County, Illinois]; Miami [Miami-Dade County, Florida]; and Atlanta [Fulton County, Georgia].  Drive-in theaters are included as a qualifying commercial venue in the above cities(must run for seven consecutive days with at least one screening daily)
 
Television nominees submissions:
This award is given to a Television full time "A" Camera Operator who has operated on a distinguished project of considerable quality during the 2020 calendar year.
 
The submitted project must have been broadcast on television, cable, or streaming service with at least 50% of the episodes released in the calendar year 2020. 
 
The submitter will be asked to submit one episode demonstrating the Operator's work for the submission process.
