Aquaponics Program Survey

Riverbend Environmental Education Center is developing an exciting new educational initiative, a self-sustaining Aquaponics program. In 2014, we will be building a 4,380 square foot greenhouse to grow crops that will be distributed to local markets and restaurants. In keeping with our educational mission, we will offer a variety of programs around Aquaponics and sustainable agriculture.

To develop programs that will best serve the needs of the community, we invite you to participate in a short survey regarding topics and types of programs that most interest you. Please feel free to pass this survey on to others, the more feedback that we can get the more relevant the programming can be.

Aquaponics has been widely determined to be the most sustainable, naturally grown agriculture for the future. The combination of aquaculture and hydroponics, Aquaponics is the science of growing fish and plants together in one integrated, soilless system. The recirculating system uses the fish waste to provide a food source for the plants and the plants provide a natural filter for the water the fish live in.

Please rate your knowledge of aquaponics and how the system works.
